We are delighted to announce that the 3rd edition of The Structured Products Law Review was recently published and is now live on our website.
In short, structured products or otherwise called market-linked investment products are "pre-packaged structured finance investment strategy based on a single security, a basket of securities, options, indices, commodities, debt issuance or foreign currencies, and to a lesser extent, derivatives. Since the global financial crisis in 2008, there was a spike in regulatory investigations in the issuance of structured products which lead to declarations of new rules and regulations to oversee the behaviours of structured product issuers and distributors.
Switzerland's turnover of structured products amounts to 82 billion Swiss francs and there are approximately 12,000 structured products tradable on the Swiss Exchange SIX.
